Julie Murray is Alex’ girlfriend/wife. She’s the first port of call when Alex is withdrawing and Julie’s been there for her lover during all her hyperactive ups and downs. Julie is an ex of Val, Alex’ best friend, and Julie had to get the better of the green-eyed monster to start a relationship with Alex and become her Murray “mermaid”. When she meets Kenneth, the very person who verbally attacked Alex, she initially keeps him at bay, but eventually becomes a surrogate mother for him.
