Fitch - full name John Abercromby - likes to pretend he's the proverbial bull in a china shop, but looks can be deceptive. His big mouth masks a warm and caring individual. Like his best friend Len, Fitch is a DS in Glasgow. He suffers from altitude sickness, if he spends too much time at sea level. That is why he loves scrambling with his friend Doug, as well as with Nic. Despite his seemingly boisterous nature, he and reclusive Nic become very tight.
After a painful divorce, Fitch found happiness with Chris.
