Features in: The Raven's Rock
Ilisa MacDonell lost her wife shortly after they got married. It tore her apart and if it hadn’t been for her best friend and family, Ilisa would simply have given up. She’s still barely managing, limping from one special date to the next, when she meets Vina MacLeod: the bull in the china shop. Vina is loud, not interested in relationships and abhors everything Ilisa stands for. In fact, the only thing they seem to have in common is whisky. Yet Vina falls for Ilisa hook, line and sinker. The attraction is mutual, but Ilisa won’t realise that and when she does at last, the confrontation is extremely bitter.
In the end Ilisa lets the bull wreak the china shop, so they can both reconstruct something together.
Ilisa has a very fine nose and is an expert in anything to do with whisky. Any whiff of something tucked away in various layers of a fine single malt and Ilisa will effortlessly name it.
