Kilchoman

Pronounced "Keel-CHOH-mun"

This is the youngest distillery of Islay. It only started in 2005, which makes it the first new distillery since 1881.

They have been releasing bottles for a few years now and I bought two of them: the Spring release of 2011 and the 2012 release. I loved them both. The whisky is peaty and yet fruity, fresh and powerful. And that for a whisky that is only six years old. I'm looking forward to even better.
