Bruichladdich

Pronounced "Bruuk-LA-dee"

Nicknamed the Laddie, this distillery reopened as an independent distillery in 2001, but was bought by Rémy Cointreau in 2012. The only remark I have about this distillery, is that they started with a bloody fine whisky, but got lost in their enthusiasm and subsequently swamped the market with varieties... and not all of them all that good. Firstly, if I had to buy and try every single release, I'd be an alcholic, and secondly, some of them really give the original 10-year-old a bad name.

I must admit it's been ages since I last tasted the ten or twelve or bought a bottle myself. I appreciated the fruity nature of the original Laddies.

Below a few bottles I bought (picture of 10-year-old missing).
